BiographyHistory

Gordon Pablo is an Elder and spokesperson for the Wuthathi Nation. He was born at Injinoo, on the Northern tip of Queensland. For most of his life, he held jobs that required physical labour, such as pearl diving, mining and clearing bush land moving around for work. After returning to Injinoo, Pablo became involved in preserving the local language. He became the language co-ordinator for Injinoo community and held the position of Chairman for the Wuthathi Council. He gave a speech against development at the 'Remote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Futures' Conference held at James Cook University in Townsville in July 1990. His main drive is the preservation of his people's culture.
