BiographyHistory

William Jackson had enlisted in the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) in Perth on the 24 June 1915. Soon after, he was deployed to Egypt in the 3rd Reinforcements of the 28th Battalion. After his duties in Egypt in 1916 Jackson embarked for France arriving there as a member of the 2nd Australian Division. He became one of 370 casualties in the campaign at Pozieres, but was later discharged and returned to the front line. He was killed in action some time between 16 and 18 November 1916.
