    Have you encountered unfamiliar terms while searching the exhibition? Within the context of Australians, the term ‘First Peoples’ and ‘First Nations’ will mean Aboriginal only, while Indigenous and Black are inclusive of both Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples. Māori refers to the Indigenous people of Aotearoa (New Zealand) and Rarotonga (the Cook Islands), Pākehā and Pālagi are terms for people of European descent or outsiders, while Pasifika is a term which encompasses the multiple backgrounds, cultures, and nationalities of Pacific Islander people, including but not limited to:
