World premiere held simultaneously in seventeen cities on 17 December 1959, including Melbourne (Australia), Sweden, Moscow (Russia), New York City (USA), and West Germany. Other release dates include Denmark (1 January 1960), Finland (26 February 1960), Austria (March 1960), and France (20 December 1960).
2. Released on videocassette format in 1993 by MGM/UA Home Video. Released on DVD format in 2002 by MGM Home Entertainment (and again in 2004).
