— Appears in: The Sydney Mail , 12 July vol. 28 no. 992 1879; (p. 46)
— Review of Jones v. Jenkyns; Or, The Bushranger's Revenge : A Stiff Yarn. Dedicated (Without Permission) to the Mediums of Sydney and Their Friends. 1879 single work novella 'This is not a biting satire upon spiritualism, as perhaps the title would lead one to suspect; but it bristles with satire nevertheless. Scarcely any current event in New South Wales escapes the author's pen. The pamphlet evinces an amount of literary cleverness which makes us wish that the author had attempted a task more worthy of his powers. In this effort it seems to us that he has done an injustice to himself.'
