Zoe Roffe was a teacher with a special interest in the education of disadvantaged children. She taught in small rural schools in the Mallee regions and migrant schools in Mildura. After studying at the University of London, Roffe worked as an exchange teacher in London before returning to Melbourne to serve as principal in several special schools. Roffe's writing reflects her teaching experiences.
