BiographyHistory

American science fiction writer of 20 novels and over 150 short stories. In the 1960s Blish 'novelised' the original Star Trek scripts. He is considered the originator of serious science fiction criticism. Blish wrote his critical work under the pseudonym 'William Atherling Jr'. This pseudonym has been employed as the name of an award given to Australian writers for excellence in science fiction criticism.
